Home of the "Weather
Guesser's" Eugene C. Cleary 73, a retired Master Chief Aerographers Mate, died Tuesday October 4, 2005, as a result of a vehicle collision. He was a native of Rochester, a resident of Canandaigua, and prior to that, Sacramento KY. Gene joined the Navy during the Korean conflict, served in the South Pacific, in Operation Deep Freeze and a Navy research commands. He served much of his career as a senior instructor at the Navy School for Meteorology. After his Navy career he became a substance abuse counselor for 25 years. He is survived by his daughters Susan Reese, Nola Barrera, and Marianne Stulich of NJ, Patricia Buckland of NH, sons Michael and Sean of NJ and Patrick of CA, 19 grandchildren, his brother Robert Cleary of LA, his former wife Marie Cleary, Sacramento KY and his loving partner Barbara Sawyer Costello of Canandaigua.
