Bob Martin was born Aug. 11, 1939, in Kennett, Mo. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1958, attaining the rank of chief petty officer. He retired in 1983 from the Naval Oceanography Command Detachment at Carswell Air Force Base after 25 years of service to his country. In 1985, Bob went to work for Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth. He was a loyal 21-year employee, serving in the security department, and he spent the last five years as head of security. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Lucille Crafton and George W. Crafton; grandmother, Estelle McCreary; grandfather, Clarence Martin; and aunt, Lydie Crump. Survivors: Loving wife of 43 years, Margaret "Margie" Martin; loving children, Ethel Mae Babicz of Michigan, Margaret "Winnie" Edwina Sleutel of Redmond, Ore., John Edwin Cook Jr. of Nevada, Texas, and Lucille Denice Salter and Daniel Adam Martin, both of Fort Worth; great-grandson, Brandon David Young, of whom Margie and Bob have guardianship; sisters, Betty Martinson of Michigan and Marie Griffin of Arkansas; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two more family members on the way.Submitted by Margaret (Margie) Martin (Widow of BJ Martin)
